Clay County Medical Center Welcomes Crystal Hathorne, PMHNP-BC, to Behavioral Health Team

Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is pleased to welcome Crystal Hathorne, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, to its behavioral health team. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Crystal will provide comprehensive mental health services to patients of all ages, helping expand access to behavioral healthcare throughout Clay County and the surrounding region.
Crystal brings extensive experience across a variety of healthcare specialties and settings. Most recently, she practiced at private behavioral health clinics in Manhattan, Kansas, where she conducted psychiatric evaluations, managed medications, and provided supportive psychotherapy. She also served as a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) provider, helping patients with treatment-resistant depression, and played a key role in establishing a clinic focused on serving military families in Junction City.
In addition to behavioral health, Crystal’s professional background includes experience in oncology, inpatient psychiatry, critical care, and school health. She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and also holds certifications as an Oncology Certified Nurse and Clinical Research Professional.
A native of Texas, Crystal earned her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
After years of moving as a military family, Crystal and her husband, a soon-to-retire Army veteran, have chosen Kansas as their permanent home. They live near Junction City with their three children and a variety of pets and livestock.
