Clay County Medical Center is pleased to welcome Alya Houghton, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, to its healthcare team.

Alya brings extensive experience in family medicine and a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Having called Clay Center home since 2023, she is excited to serve the community that has warmly welcomed her and her son, Kane.
Originally from Randall, Kansas, Alya earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University in 2013, graduating with honors. She later completed her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Walden University in 2018, also graduating with honors.
Her healthcare career began as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems in Beloit before advancing to Registered Nurse positions at Geary Community Hospital and Manhattan Surgical Hospital. Since becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Alya has provided care to patients of all ages in a variety of settings, including rural and urban family medicine clinics, military healthcare, and community health centers.
Throughout her career, Alya has developed a special interest in pediatric and adolescent health, preventive care, and helping patients achieve long-term wellness.
“This community has been very welcoming to my son and me since we arrived in 2023,” Alya said. “I wanted to join the team at CCMC to help contribute to the well-being of our community.”
Alya will see patients at both Clay Center Family Physicians and Linn Family Physicians. In Linn, she will provide primary care services and same-day appointments. In Clay Center, she will help expand access to same-day visits and acute care appointments when a patient’s regular provider is unavailable.
Outside of work, Alya enjoys spending time with her son, attending his school and sporting events, baking, and creating memories with family and friends. She is passionate about helping patients improve their health and finds great satisfaction in seeing positive outcomes over time.
Clay County Medical Center is excited to welcome Alya to the team and looks forward to the impact she will have on the patients and communities she serves.
