The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses
Nurses at Clay County Medical Center, Meadowlark Hospice, and Clay Center Family Physicians are honored through The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®, an international recognition program that celebrates nurses who provide exceptional clinical care and compassion to patients and families.
What is the DAISY Award?
The DAISY Award is an international program that recognizes nurses for their extraordinary clinical skill, compassionate care, and commitment to excellence. As a DAISY Award partner, Clay County Medical Center is proud to recognize outstanding nurses who make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, families, and colleagues.

Each DAISY Award recipient is honored during a public recognition ceremony and receives:

A DAISY Award certificate

A DAISY Award pin

A hand-carved sculpture titled A Healer's Touch
​
Recipients and their coworkers also celebrate with cinnamon rolls, a tradition established in memory of Patrick Barnes, whose experience inspired the creation of The DAISY Foundation. Patients, family members, visitors, physicians, nurses, and employees are encouraged to nominate a nurse who demonstrates exceptional care and service.

The CARE Award recognizes extraordinary non-nurse team members who consistently demonstrate Compassion, Acceptance, Respect, and Enthusiasm in their work and interactions with patients, families, coworkers, and the community.

Each CARE Award nominee receives a CARE Award lapel pin in recognition of their nomination.
Each CARE Award recipient receives:
