Clay County Medical Center Shares Construction Updates

Updated: Jul 8
Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is pleased to share progress updates on its ongoing facility expansion and improvement projects.
Construction of the new addition to Clay Center Family Physicians continues to move forward, with several major milestones already completed. Exterior framing is well underway, providing the structural foundation for the expansion. Installation of exterior sheathing is scheduled to begin soon, while preparations are being made for roofing installation through the addition of wood blocking in window openings and parapet areas.
As construction progresses, the next phase will focus on enclosing the building and preparing the structure for interior work. Roofing and exterior weatherproofing efforts will help seal the building, allowing crews to begin work on interior spaces. Interior framing is expected to begin soon as the new addition takes shape.
To connect the expansion to the existing facility, temporary walls will be installed within the current reception area while construction continues. These improvements are designed to create a seamless transition between the existing clinic and the new patient care spaces.
In addition to the clinic expansion, improvements are also underway at the Emergency Department entrance. Foundations for a new ADA-compliant accessibility ramp have been formed and poured, marking an important step toward improving access for patients and visitors. Upcoming work will focus on completing the ramp and surrounding sidewalks.
“We are thrilled to see our vision for these facility upgrades coming to life,” said Austin Gillard, CEO of Clay County Medical Center. “These projects not only allow us to better serve our patients today, but also ensure we are equipped to meet the evolving needs of our community for years to come. We appreciate the community’s continued support and patience during this exciting period of growth.”
The expansion project represents Clay County Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to enhancing patient care, improving accessibility, and investing in the future of healthcare throughout the region.
