Building for a Healthy Future Campaign

Updated: Jun 10
The Clay County Hospital Foundation (CCHF) is asking for community support to help Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) expand access to mental health care, enhance specialty medical services, and continue investing in the future of local healthcare.

“We want to raise $50,000 to close out our campaign so we can cover the entire expense of furnishings, fixtures, and equipment for the planned addition to the hospital,” said Bryce Dolan, Foundation Director. “CCHF support for this project will help maximize the services CCMC can bring to our community.”
For years, donor support has enabled the Foundation to partner with CCMC on important projects that strengthen its commitment to providing quality, compassionate care. Since 2018, the Foundation has helped support a major hospital expansion, the construction of new clinics in Clyde and Riley, renovations at Clay Center Family Physicians, and now the next major phase of growth at CCMC.
The current expansion project is designed to address healthcare needs throughout the region by increasing access to mental health services and expanding specialty care offerings.
“We have identified specific medical needs in our area, and addressing those needs will further our mission to improve the health of the communities we serve,” said Austin Gillard, CEO of Clay County Medical Center. “With this expansion, our service capabilities will grow as we increase our options for patients seeking mental health care and other specialized services.”
As part of the expansion, CCMC plans to add several new providers, including a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, a mental health counselor, and a marriage and family counselor.
“These additions to our team will be unique for a hospital of our size and will allow us to identify and treat more of the mental health challenges facing our region,” Gillard added.
The project will also create dedicated space for several specialty services, improving efficiency and convenience for patients.
“This new area will serve patients of all ages and provide space for general surgery, ENT, pulmonology, urology, and orthopedic services,” said Gillard. “Bringing these services together under Clay County Medical Center will create a more seamless experience for our patients.”
The Foundation Board recognized the significant benefits this project will bring to the community and committed its support to helping make the expansion a reality.
“Donors can take pride in knowing their contributions directly impact the health of our community,” said Dan Thalmann, Campaign Manager. “We are grateful for the support we have received over the years and would love to see even more people become involved in the Foundation’s efforts.”
All gifts made to the Foundation during the campaign period will support the remaining targeted expenses associated with the expansion project.
