Pelvic Health Therapy

Updated: Jun 10
Clay County Medical Center is pleased to announce that Alicia Crowl, DPT, and April Fahey, DPT, have completed specialized training in pelvic health physical therapy and are now providing pelvic health therapy services to patients throughout the region.

Following extensive pre-course work and completion of an intensive pelvic function training program, Crowl and Fahey are equipped to evaluate and treat a variety of pelvic floor conditions.
Until now, patients often had to travel to communities such as Manhattan, Junction City, or Abilene to access pelvic health therapy services. With this additional training, Clay County Medical Center can now provide specialized care closer to home.
“We are able to provide pelvic floor therapy for incontinence, pelvic pain, and pelvic organ prolapse,” said Crowl. “We can also treat certain pregnancy-related conditions, such as diastasis recti.”
Pelvic health physical therapy focuses on improving the function of the pelvic floor muscles, which play an important role in bladder, bowel, and reproductive health. Treatment plans are individualized and designed to help patients improve function, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life.
Fahey emphasized the importance of increasing access to these services locally.
“Previously, the communities we serve faced challenges in accessing specialized pelvic health care,” said Fahey. “Now, with our training, we are excited to offer pelvic health therapy to the patients we serve here at Clay County Medical Center.”
The addition of pelvic health therapy further expands the rehabilitation services available at CCMC and helps ensure patients can receive specialized care without traveling long distances.
