Clay County Medical Center encourages patients with wounds to seek specialized wound care as soon as possible. Chronic and non-healing wounds can lead to serious complications, including infection, hospitalization, and limb loss.

The Comprehensive Wound Center at CCMC offers advanced wound care treatment for patients with wounds that are not healing properly. The team includes clinicians with specialized training in wound care and provides treatment options that may not be available in a traditional office setting.

“Chronic wounds can have serious health consequences and adversely affect quality of life,” said Pam Brabec, FNP-C. “A specialized outpatient wound center can provide advanced dressings and treatments that are key to properly treating wounds.”

Patients should call for an appointment if they are experiencing:

• Diabetic foot ulcers

• Venous ulcers

• Pressure injuries or ulcers

• Traumatic wounds

• Arterial or ischemic ulcers

• Compromised skin grafts or flaps

• Any wound that is not healing or is causing concern
