Clay County Medical Center Receives 2024 Performance Leadership Award

Updated: Jun 10
As part of National Rural Health Day, Clay County Medical Center announced it has received a 2024 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Patient Perspective from The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

The Performance Leadership Awards recognize rural hospitals that rank in the top quartile nationally for performance. Clay County Medical Center earned recognition in the Patient Perspective category, placing it among the highest-performing rural hospitals in the country for patient experience. Only 28 rural hospitals in Kansas received this distinction.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognized with the 2024 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Patient Perspective,” said Austin Gillard, CEO of Clay County Medical Center.
“This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our entire team to provide the highest quality care to our community. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of investing in rural healthcare to ensure every patient has access to the care they deserve.”
The award is based on results from the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive benchmarking system used to evaluate rural hospital performance across a variety of operational, financial, and quality measures. The INDEX serves as a valuable resource for rural hospitals, healthcare systems, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health nationwide.
“The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence, and innovation with which America’s rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities,” said Troy Brown, Network Consultant with The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “It is a tremendous honor to recognize the efforts of this year’s award winners and celebrate their achievements as part of National Rural Health Day.”
This recognition highlights Clay County Medical Center’s continued commitment to providing exceptional patient experiences and delivering high-quality healthcare services to the communities it serves.
