Clay County Medical Center (CCMC) is proud to announce that its Environmental Services (EVS) Department has been recognized with a 5-star cleanliness rating by Becker’s Hospital Review.

This distinction highlights CCMC’s commitment to maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, and patient care. The rating is based on data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, which measures patient experiences during hospital stays.

The results reflect patient feedback collected between October 2022 and September 2023 and were updated on July 31, 2024. Among thousands of hospitals evaluated nationwide, only 350 earned the prestigious 5-star cleanliness rating.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of CCMC’s Environmental Services Team, led by Rita Tiemeyer. The team plays a vital role in creating a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

“We are incredibly proud of our Environmental Services Team for their outstanding efforts,” said Austin Gillard, CEO of Clay County Medical Center. “Their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness significantly contributes to our patients’ overall experience and safety. This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire organization to providing exceptional care and ensuring a clean, safe environment for everyone who walks through our doors.”

Clay County Medical Center was one of only 14 hospitals in Kansas to receive the 5-star cleanliness designation, further demonstrating the organization’s dedication to excellence in patient care and satisfaction.
