Clay County Medical Center Nursing Team Recognized

Updated: Jul 8
Clay County Medical Center is proud to announce its inclusion on Becker’s list of the best hospitals for nurse communication in Kansas. The recognition is based on data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey and highlights the exceptional care provided by the hospital’s nursing team.

Becker’s ranking draws from publicly reported HCAHPS data provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The nurse communication rating is based on patient responses to questions evaluating how effectively nurses explain information, listen carefully, and treat patients with courtesy and respect. The datareflects patient experiences from July 2022 through June 2023.
This recognition reflects Clay County Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to patient-centered care and the important role communication plays in creating positive healthcare experiences.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognized for our focus on effective nurse communication,” said Austin Gillard, CEO of Clay County Medical Center. “This achievement is a direct result of the hard work, professionalism, and compassion of our nursing staff. Every day, they strive to ensure patients feel heard, respected, and well-informed throughout their healthcare journey.”
Strong communication between patients and caregivers is a critical component of quality healthcare. By providing clear explanations, actively listening to concerns, and treating patients with dignity and respect, Clay County Medical Center’s nursing team continues to set a high standard for patient care.
The hospitals included on Becker’s list represent some of the highest-performing facilities in Kansas for nurse communication, reinforcing Clay County Medical Center’s reputation for delivering compassionate, high-quality care close to home.
