The rating is based on data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey conducted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Survey results were collected between October 2022 and September 2023 and measure whether patients would recommend the hospital to their friends and family.

Of the 464 hospitals nationwide that received a five-star patient recommendation rating, only 17 were located in Kansas, placing Clay County Medical Center among a select group of high-performing healthcare organizations.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this five-star rating,” said Austin Gillard, CEO of Clay County Medical Center. “This recognition reflects our team’s commitment to providing outstanding patient care and ensuring a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors. We are grateful to our community for their trust and support.”

Patient recommendation ratings are considered an important measure of overall patient satisfaction and reflect the quality of care, communication, and service patients receive during their healthcare experience.

This recognition further demonstrates Clay County Medical Center’s dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while continually striving for excellence in every aspect of healthcare delivery.
