Waldorf Salad

This is an easy, traditional recipe for the upcoming holidays. Just add some leftover chicken or turkey and you also have an entree salad. This recipe uses almonds which are packed with nutrients. A handful of almonds a day is recommended as part of a heart healthy diet.

Ingredients:

Yield: 6 servings

2 cups diced unpeeled apples
1 cup diced celery
1/2 cup fat-free or light mayonnaise
1/2 cup raisins or halved seedless grapes
1/4 cup slivered almonds, dry roasted
1 tsp fresh lemon juice

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate.
