Clay County Medical Center is pleased to announce that Dr. David W. Harden, Erin Thornton and Casey Jankord from Manhattan Dermatology will join providers offering services through the Outpatient Clinic. They will be able to diagnose and treat many diseases and conditions of the skin, including skin cancer, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and nail infections. The Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center also has a clinic which sees dermatology patients at Clay County Medical Center.
Dr. Harden and his staff will begin seeing patients on July 27, 2015. “Dr. Harden brings quality medical skills to patients from pediatrics to seniors. Clay County Medical Center is pleased to offer another provider for the people of Clay County and the surrounding area,” said Austin Gillard, Chief Executive Officer.
David Harden, MD
Dr. Harden was born and raised in Wichita, KS. He served in the U.S. Army as a physician for ten years which included two tours of duty at Fort Riley, KS as well as deployments to Soto Cano Air Base as a flight surgeon and Iraq as the battalion surgeon for the 1-13th Armor Battalion, 1st Armored Division. In 2003, Dr. Harden transitioned to civilian life, settling in Manhattan with his wife and three boys.
Dr. Harden enjoys all aspects of dermatology and the opportunity it provides to see a wide variety of people, young and old. He especially enjoys clinical dermatology and the challenges it can present.

Erin Thornton, M.S.H.S., PA-C
Erin Thornton grew up in a rural community outside of Topeka. After graduating from K-State, she completed her PA training at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where she was fortunate to have the opportunity to train in a world-class academic medical center. She gained tremendous experience in a metropolitan city, but always knew she would return to Kansas to start her career and family. She lives with her husband and four children in Wamego, KS.
Erin solidified her training by beginning her career in family practice and emergency medicine, but has specialized in dermatology since 2006. She has gained Diplomate status with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants by completing the Distance Learning Initiative for Advanced Dermatology Training.

Casey Jankord, M.P.A., PA-C
Casey grew up in Columbia, Missouri. She attended Kansas State University and received her bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition. She completed her PA training at Wichita State University, where students are given the opportunity to travel across Kansas and gain experience in the challenging field of rural medicine.
Casey worked for Manhattan Dermatology prior to attending Physician Assistant school. Because of that experience, she knew she wanted to specialize in dermatology as a Physician Assistant. Casey also has experience as a provider in emergency medicine.
She lives in Manhattan with her husband and two labrador retriever dogs. They enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
