Hospice Quilt Dedication

Dedicated to Edward Stone and Hoy Crow

I stitched this square in honor of 2 wonderful men.

The first man is Edward Stone. He is my husband's grandfather. He was diagnosed with cancer in January 2001 and became very weak and ill. His passing was quick, but no less painful for him. The Wintersville, Ohio Hospice helped make his final months comfortable and peaceful. His time with us ended in late March. Several hospice workers took the time to help the family after that. They came to comfort at the funeral and offered food as well. His passing was very much on my mind when I was asked to stitch this square.

Second, but certainly not least, I dedicate this square to my own grandfather, Hoy Crow. He was the single most important male figure in my life. Being retired, he had a lot more time for us when we were children. He taught me how to fish, hunt, swim, love the outdoors, and the best way to enjoy a candy bar and rootbeer at the general store! He was the light of my life. Pap had been on dialysis for several years, but never really sick. Even at the age of 81, he never seemed old to me. While Hospice was never involved with Pap, I couldn't let this opportunity to honor him escape. He passed away in 1998 and I have missed him every single minute since. He taught me so much, that he is still with me in everything I do or say.

It was with heartfelt love and graciousness that I stitched this square for these two very wonderful men!!

I ASKED JESUS "HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE ME?"
HE ANSWERED, "THIS MUCH",
AND HE STRETCHED OUT HIS ARMS AND HE DIED
