Dedicated to Sister Marilyn Foote

Sister Marilyn, a Sister of Joseph from Concordia, Kansas, grew up in Ellsworth, Kansas. She received her diploma at the Marymount College School of Nursing in Salina, Kansas in medical-surgical nursing. In 1965 she eared the M.S. in Nursing Service Administration at the Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

Sister Marilyn served as a devoted nurse with gentleness, selflessness and love. For two consecutive years she was selected Employee of the year by the nursing staff of St. Joseph's Hospital in Salina. In 1975 she was elected to the Executive council of the Sisters where she served for two four-year terms. She then served as coordinator of Medaillle Center in Salina. In 1994 she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

During the years that followed, she served for a number of years in the parish in Ellsworth, Kansas. Death was due to maningeal carcinomatosis in September, 2000. She was 67 years of age. Marilyn's loving and vibrant presence is dearly missed by her family and many friends.
