Ronald Wilson

This quilt block is dedicated to Ronald Wilson. Ron died of ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease) on March 20, 2001 at the age of 57. During a 6 1/2 year battle he lost his ability to walk and talk, and in the last two years he breathed using a bi-pap machine.

Ron and Cheryl were married for 37 years and had two sons. Ron worked at the Farmers Co-op Shipping Association in Clifton, Kansas for 35 years until ill health forced him to retire.

Ron was a hospice patient for the last year. Hospice allowed him to stay at home being cared for by many friends and family members. Ron had a terrific sense of humor, and always had the determination to live.
