Meadowlark Hospice Home
Hospice Quilt Dedication

I would like to dedicate my hospice square to my mother for the countless hours she has devoted to people in their final days.

Hospice has been an indirect part of my life for many years. My mother has worked as an in-home aide for the last 16 years for many Hospice patients. I don't even think she knows how many patients she has had over the years, but it has been many. She also volunteers at her local nursing home. In fact, if she's not at home at night, she can be found at the nursing home. My mom has won several awards from the county she lives in for her volunteering efforts as well as "Volunteer of the Year." The amount of time my mom spends with the elderly and dying is probably more than some people spend with their own children. It is in her spirit I stitched this square and I hope these quilts bring comfort, warmth and peace to their new owners.
