All of the quilts are an awesome work of art!!!!!!!!!! I found this web site accidently and would love to know how and where I could get the patterns. It would be comforting to stitch someting similiar in this area of the USA. Hospice came into my home to be there with me and my family when my husband died. What great comfort and help they were!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless. LM

My cousin, Linda, notified me today of your Website displaying the beautiful quilts and pillows knowing that I was aware that my aunt, Phyllis Mahin from Courtland, donated her time and talents in quilting the three pillows to be auctioned in memory of her husband, Bill, and in appreciation for the love and dedication from the Meadowlark Hospice staff to Bill and their family during those difficult moments. I was in awe of the final results, and commend everyone who devoted their talents to complete these works of art. I was particularly touched and moved to see the Dedication page for my aunt and uncle, Bill and Phyllis Mahin. He was a wonderful man who will always be loved and remembered by all who knew him, and Phyllis is aunt that everyone should be fortunate enough to have. The love and kindness that she shares each day is now extended to the stitches of love that she labored on for the Hospice pillows. In this turbulent time, it is comforting to feel the love of others ... even if it is only through the Web.

The last quilt is finished! As Sisters of St. Joseph, it has been a privilege to be a part of this worthy project. Sisters who participated in quilting included Sisters Ann Vincent Glatter, Ann Martin Reinert, Joan Ice, op, and Betty Suther. As we quilted we were cognizant of all those men and women remembered in the stitching and the quilting. God bless you!

Congratulations!!!! I worked as a Hospice Aide for many years and now have switched positions, but still support the Hospice program in the hospital that I continue to work for. I now support it by doing a cross stitch, that I donate, for the annual Gala. Because of cuts with Medicare, the program needs additional support. So they have a Gala which is wonderful! We have a silent auction and a live auction, raffles, live music and a wonderful dinner. Keep up the great work!!!

Just to let everyone know the auction is up and running. If you would like to place a bid on one of the items, just go to our web site www.ccmcks.org and click on hospice. Good Luck!!

This is a brilliant idea! Hospice is a wonderful organization and although we did not have hospice while my father was dying ... I truly wish we would of ... I deeply regret this fact. If there would ever be call for volunteer cross stitchers for more quilts, you could definitely count me in!!!

I just recieved and e-mail about you,I think a quilt for those in need is just wonderful. I also had just made a quilt, for my Mother, which she used in her last days and it was a comfort to her. Your site touched my heart, because if it hadn't been for hospice our family would have been lost without you.Thank You for your wonderful care!

Having been an inactive Hospice volunteer for 2 years, I attended my first monthly meeting today. I am so excited about the beautiful quilt I saw today and the others I viewed on the internet. I enjoy seeing pretty quilts, but none have ever touched me quite like the one I saw today, especially after hearing the story of its inception and all the love that has gone into making it by people from all over the world. I am pleased to be a part of this wonderful organization of loving, caring, and giving individuals. May God richly bless each of you.

After months and months of planning, cross-stiching, cutting, piecing and sewing, and quilting, we are very pleased to let everyone know that the first quilt is finished. The pictures do not do it justice. The first finished quilt is truly awesome. We all are in awe of the talents, dedication and love of all who worked on the quilts. We have been telling everyone how beautiful they would be, but could not imagine they would be so amazing. We all are so excited to see the finished project. We are in the process of planning where they will be displayed for all to admire. A big Thank You "to everyone" who took part in making this project a reality. We appreciate the dedication you have put into this "quilt of love." We will keep you all posted.

I am a Hospice Chaplain and I want to say thank you for this wonderful
project. The quilts will not only raise funds but more importantly raise awareness of the good Hospice can bring to families in need.
What a wonderful way to memorialize and honor your loved ones who have died.

Recently while visiting my daughter and family I had the opportunity of viewing the completed quilt top in Clay Center, Kansas. It is beautiful and the workmanship and love that has gone into it is amazing.
The squares are fantastic and the person who put them together did a wonderful job. I know all of the quilts will be as beautiful as this one and I look forward to seeing them. It is wonderful to see this many caring individuals working together for such a great cause.

What a beautiful & loving tribute to the end of life. Having worked for a local Hospice company & having my dad in hospice care, I've seen first hand how supportive & comforting this program is to not only the patient but also the caregivers.

The Quilts are so beautiful! I am sure that each square exemplifies the beauty of those it represents. Bless each of you for your time and dedication to this project. My husband, Dan, is a Hospice Chaplain. He has a very tender, caring heart and gift of compassion for those being cared for by Hospice. I personally witnesses the love and care provided by our Hospice staff here in Clay Center Kansas, when our Church Secretary was dying of Cancer. They were a "loving family" to us during this time of great pain. Bless each of you and your ministry of stitching!

I was compeled to stitch two squares for two of the quilts as this is something that my heart just told me to do. We do not have a local hospice around here but that did not stop me from stitching for this great cause. I dedicated my two squares to two special people that I miss very much. One was my father James Ronald Elliot who passed away over five years ago and I still miss him to this very day and the other one was dedicated to Sandra J Ross who passed away just over a year ago due to cancer. I met Sandy on the internet and met her face to face. I still miss her more than words can say.

Thanks to all the other stitchers who stitched for the 4 quilts and a special thank you to Linda Y for organizing this huge undertaking. I know what it is like to make quilts for someone else and send them to them so I have a huge respect for her and for all the quilters and stitchers behind the scenes. May this bring those of us who are involved many years of happiness to just know that we were involved in something like this. I for one know it will me.

To all stitchers whom have worked on the Hospice quilt; "The gift of Life, the gift of love and the gift of time".
Thank You is just not enough for the hours of love and dedication you all have put into this project. The generosity of giving so much of yourselves as well as your time and talent to this project is fantastic and so much appreciated.
We are so honored to be the recipient of your compassionate gift. The stories are wonderful and will touch the hearts of anyone who reads them. What a great way to honor those whom the dedications are stitched for. Again, words can not express our appreciation!!!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

I hope this project draws attention to and honors all dedicated Hospice workers who make life bearable during death - or, should I say, make death bearable during life? These are amazingly strong and loving men and women who help those who are dying and their families handle the toughest of moments, hours, days, weeks... Both my father and father-in-law received wonderful support and friendship from Hospice workers in their months of fighting cancer. Thank you to all of you helping create this quilt!

I have two friends who both volunteer their time to Hospice, here in BC. I thought to stitch a square for the quilts was a way I could give of myself. This is a very worthwhile project!

The quilt square that I stitched was done in rememberance of my uncle. He was a very special man who spent his last days in the confort of a Hospice facility here in Florida. Although he was in a coma and never knew the wonderful care he received, it was a great comfort to the family knowing that he was given the respect and loving care he deserved. My donation to this hospice project has been a healing time. I am proud to be part of this donation along with my fellow stitchers to Hospice. A special thanks goes to all the people who work at the many Hospice Centers around the U.S. for the care and concern shown to people who are in your care.

My quilt squares will be done to honor two men, Ray Hayden and Robert Wade, both of whom were comforted with hospice care in their final days. I can't think of any cause more worthy. The volunteers and staff at the hospice centers all over the world make a huge difference in people's lives. I know that my family has been directly touched with their mission and we are all very thankful for what they do.

Stitching a square for one of these quilts has been a therapeutic way for me to remember my brother-in-law, who died of cancer in December 1999. The fact that it can then be used to raise funds to help care for others with termninal illnesses is a wonderful bonus, as far as I am concerned. These quilts will be beautiful, shining testimonies to all our loved ones, past and present.

My father was Charles Reavis. The love and care given to my father and family during his illness will never be forgotten. I truly admire the people that assist the families in their care. The quilts and the people that did the squares of love are beautiful.

Meadowlark Hospice of Clay Center, Ks is a wonderful organization comprised of caring, compassionate workers. I have witnessed first-hand how important their care is to those who are making the transition from life to death. They not only care for the patient, but for the patients family. I am honored and proud to be supporting this project knowing how much good it will bring to others who need Hospice care. My most heart-felt thanks goes to everyone involved in this project and to those who will be supporting it through their donations.
