Course
Description The PALS 2-day course will teach healthcare providers to recognize early signs of pediatric and infant distress and interventions to prevent respiratory and interventions to prevent respiratory and cardiopulmonary arrest.
Various types of learning formats are used: lectures, skill stations, interactive sessions, self-study and small groups.
A copy of your current BLS/HCP card is required at registration.
Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this continuing medical education activity, participants should be able to:
Recognize and intervene with infant/child at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest resulting from shock or respiratory failure.
Demonstrate types, uses and indications of airway adjuncts and equip.
Recognize life-threatening rhythm disturbances and discuss their treatment.
Discuss peripheral, intraosseous and central venous cannulation in infants/children.
Perform as a team member/leader during simulated resuscitation of a neonatal/infant/child.
