CC Hospital Foundation Annual Meeting
April 21, 2009
6:30 p.m. at the St. Peter and Paul Parish Center
The number of blueberries on each dessert was the hot topic at the annual CCH Foundation meeting with over 100 in attendance. The program for the evening was presented by Justin Begnoche, Asst. Director of Radiology, and Jennifer Bush, Registered MRI Technician, about the new Siemens MAGNETOM Essenza MRI. Another presentation featured artwork recently purchased with Memorials in honor of Ellen B. Rook.
Anyone who would like a tour of the Radiology department is welcome. And while you are visiting please enjoy the artwork.
Welcome and Thank-You
By Marcia Newell
Each year I look forward to reporting accomplishments of the Clay County
Hospital Foundation. The donations of time and money are crucial to the
success of Clay County Medical Center.
The Board of Trustees, our CEO and the Foundation Board are committed to the mission of providing quality medical care for our communities.
Many of you may never know the individuals you are helping; yet you give. Please know the membership of this organization has been vital to the continued success of the hospital for over twenty years.
In 2008, the Clay County Hospital Foundation received gifts from donors and memorials that allowed us to purchase nearly $10,000 worth of new equipment in the Mark A. Chapman Wellness Center and two bariatric mattresses, which cost about $6,000.
In February of this year, the hospital was able to purchase a new MRI and digital mammography equipment. Preparation and remodeling for the MRI was very expensive, as it required lining the room in copper. The Foundation contributed $100,000 towards this project.
Thanks to committed Foundation members, vital health services are
available for residents of Clay Center and neighboring communities.

CCMC Gets An MRI & Artwork Presentation
by Marcia Newell, Executive Director
CCMC Gets An MRI - Granny was instrumental in raising awareness of the need for an MRI. We have been able to purchase an MRI. The location for MRI was the previous Education Center and PT/OT/Speech Department. The MRI arrived at Clay County Medical Center on January 12, 2009.
Artwork Presentation - A gift was made by the Rook family in memory of Ellen Rook, who served on the CCH Foundation Board of Directors. Ellen B. Rook is the inspiration for placing original art in the hospital. I invite you to walk through the hospital to view the collection whenever you have time.
