- The November 6, 2001 minutes were approved.
- Jim Brinkman, Chief Financial Officer, presented the financial reports
for September. After review and discussion the reports were approved
as amended.
- Jim Brinkman presented the accounts receivable report with recommendations
for further action on selected accounts. After discussion, the report
and requests were approved.
- Cindy Rush, Personnel Director, presented several employee policies
for review by the Board. In response to the Kansas Hospital Association
Mid-Year salary survey there were small adjustments to the salary scales
for nurses.
- Cindy Rush also presented a report on the employee health insurance
renewal proposal from Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The rates would increase
55 percent for single coverage and 54 percent for family coverage. Coverage
based on the Sunflower Health Network plan provided by Preferred Health
Systems was considered as a replacement. The coverage will be similar
for employees and the cost increase is about 27% above the current cost.
Employees will, however, have the choice of three different deductibles,
which can adjust the premium portion that the employees pay. After review
of the plans and options the Clay County Medical Center Board decided
to switch coverage to the new plan. Clay County Medical Center will
pick up about 70 percent of the increase with the employees picking
up the rest.
- Ron Bender, CEO reported that Kim Davis R.N., Emergency Services Manager
at CCMC has been elected Treasurer of the newly formed North Central
Regional Trauma Council and Ron Bender was also elected to the executive
Board. Dr. John Kelly, of Clay Center Family Physicians, serves as a
member of the council.
- The next Board meeting is set for December 18th at 7:30p.m.
