• The October 9, 2001 minutes were approved.
  
  
• Jim Brinkman, Chief Financial Officer, presented the financial reports for September. After review and discussion the reports were approved as presented.
  
  
• Jim Brinkman presented the accounts receivable report with recommendations for further action on selected accounts. After discussion, the report and requests were approved.
  
  
• Ron Bender, CEO, presented information on Disaster Planing for the new threats of biological terrorism. Mark Amberg, Imaging Department Director, has been appointed as Safety Director and will coordinate the hospital's response planning. The Safety Committee will review Clay County Medical Center's existing Disaster Response Plans to be sure that all reasonable preparation is in place. Included in the report was information received from various sources including the American and Kansas Hospital Associations.
  
  
• Ron Bender also reported that Mary Brown and Dana Rickley have informed him that the county is making progress on planning for the new Health Department Building. The new time-line shows an expected completion date of December 2002.
  
  
• The next Board meeting is set for November 6th at 8 p.m.
