• Brent Snyder, CRNA, presented a letter of resignation effective May 12, 2007. The Board thanked him for his many years of service and his commitment to the hospital and his patients. A search will begin for his replacement.

• Cindy Rush, Human Resources Director, reported on the employee health insurance information and bids for next year. The insurance program is furnished through Sunflower Health Network. The carrier will once again be Blue Cross of Kansas. The benefits will be similar to last year with an approximate 10% reduction in costs. This is the first reduction in costs after several years of cost increases. The drug benefit will change from Express Script to MedTrak. After discussion the Board approved the insurance plans with small changes to the drug benefit co-pays and charges.

• Ron Bender, CEO, presented the Collections committee requests for approval of accounts for outside collection and legal action. After discussion the Board approved the requests.

• Ron Bender reported on the repairs to the concrete parking slab in front of the hospital. The work will be done by Bloom Construction of Clay Center for $7,687 and work will begin this week.

• The board discussed the construction project and discussed additional planning issues.

• The next Board meeting is set for Tuesday, October 31th at 8:30pm in the Clay County Medical Center dining room.
