- Jim Brinkman, Chief Financial Officer, presented the monthly financial
statements. After review and discussion the Board moved to accept the
financials as presented.
- Jim Brinkman then presented the accounts receivable report with recommendations
for further action on selected accounts. After discussion, the report
and requests were approved.
- Ron Bender, CEO, presented information on the bids received for the
Hospital Facilities Improvement Project. The final bids included a base
bid and several options. The best bid was from Harbin Construction Inc.,
of Salina. The work will include:
- a complete remodeling of the south wing including new birthing
facilities,
- a new fire alarm system,
- an extension and upgrade of the fire sprinkler system,
- a new nurses station for greater privacy,
- new lighting in the east wing,
- upgrades to the heating and air conditioning in the south wing,
- a new ceiling and floor in the hospital kitchen,
- a new shower room
- new floor covering throughout much of the hospital
- and new wall covering throughout much of the hospital.
After review and discussion with David Wright, Architect, the Board
approved the project which is expected to cost $939,600. The work
will be done in phases to allow for continuing patient care during
construction. Work is expected to begin by the end of September and
take up to 300 calendar days to complete. Planing for this project
has taken place over several years and will not require any new taxes.
- The next Board meeting is set for September 10th at 7:30pm.
