July 31, 2007

  • Jim Brinkman, CFO, presented the financial reports for June.  After discussion the Board approved the reports.  Mr. Brinkman then presented the collections committee reports.  After review and discussion the accounts for collection were approved. 

  • Jim Brinkman reported on the budget planning.  A budget hearing will be held on August 14, 2007 at 7:30 pm in room 1 of the CCMC Education Center.

  • Bev Rieger RN, IFC/QI/RM, presented the Credentials Committee recommendations from the Medical staff.  Daniel Gillespie, M.D. was recommended for Radiology Courtesy Staff.  Elizabeth Koerner M.D. was recommended for Active Staff full reappointment and Jennifer Butera, CRNA was recommended for Allied Health privileges.  After discussion the recommendations were all approved by the Board.

  • Terri Parry, Board Member, presented the Capital Acquisitions Committee report.

  • Sheila Haley, Health Information Director attended and presented a request for a new transcription system.  The cost would be $25,001.25 plus a maintenance agreement that totals another $24,029.35 over five years.  The Board approved the acquisition of the system.

  • Katrina Affolter, Radiology Director and Justin Begnoche, Assistant Radiology Director, presented a request for a new Multi-slice CT scanner to replace the existing single-slice scanner.  The unit requested is a 16 slice “Brilliance” scanner made by Philips with a cost of $416,781 and an additional 5 year service cost of $321,200. Additional requests for new automatic doors for surgery and a replacement 10 ton air conditioning condensing unit were tabled for more information.  After discussion the board approved the acquisition of the transcription system and the 16 slice CT scanner in separate motions.

  • Lori Penner, Board Chairman, presented the recommendations for scholarships from the Scholarship Committee.  They were a $1,000 nursing scholarship for Shantel Pfizenmaier to Kansas Wesleyan University and a $1,000 nursing scholarship to Susan Mahin to attend North Central Kansas Technical college.  The Board approved the scholarships.

  • The Board viewed and discussed a board training DVD and booklet.

  • The next Board meeting August 14, 2007 at 7:30 pm in room #1 of the CCMC Education Center.
