• Bev Rieger, RN, QI/IFC presented updates and changes to the Risk Management and Quality Improvement plans. After review and discussion the plans were approved.
• Marcia Newell, Marketing and Foundation Director, presented a request for approval of a tax credit grant application to the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing. The Board approved the grant application as presented. Marcia also reported on the activities of the Clay County Hospital Foundation and the Foundation's fund raising efforts in support of the "Building For A Healthy Future" campaign.
• Lori Penner, Board Chairman, presented a recommendation from the Scholarship Committee for a CCMC Scholarship for Tennille Pierce to continue her education at Barton County Coummunity College. She is seeking certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician and the scholarship is for $1,000. After review the Board approved the scholarship.
• Ron Bender, CEO gave a brief report on the financials and the preliminary annual audit. He also presented the Collections Committee report and requests for action on accounts. After review and discussion the requests were approved.
• The construction project is planned to begin the first week of June and be completed about March of 2007. The groundbreaking is set for Monday, June 5, 2006. First Phase subcontractor bid results are expected to be known by Thursday or Friday of next week.
• The board discussed additional planing issues including future equipment needs.
• The next Board meeting is set for Tuesday, May 9th at 8:00 p.m. in the Clay County Medical Center dinning room.
