Columbian Club Hosts Bone Density Screening

The Clifton Columbian Club hosted a free bone density screening at the Clifton City Hall on Tuesday, October 28th. The free screenings were made possible by donations from Clay County Medical Center and the First National Bank of Clifton.

Bone density screenings help determine one's risk for Osteoporosis (fragile bones leading to bone fractures or breaks). Community members had their fracture risk for Osteoporosis determined by placing their heel in a Heel-Dexa machine. According to Clay County Medical Center Director of Marketing, Bryant Anderson, 55 people received free screenings.

Columbian Club members were pleased with the number of citizens that participated in the free screenings. "It was a great opportunity for community members to find out if they are at risk for osteoporosis," Columbian representative, Rebecca Oglesby said.
