Clay County Medical Center Welcomes Our New Director of Nursing Suzanne’s hometown was Clay Center. Suzanne graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and has been a Registered Nurse since 1983. Suzanne married Dick Ahlberg, who is also a Clay Center native. Suzanne and Dick resided in Oberlin, KS where Suzanne worked for Decatur Health Systems for 32 years. The last seven years of her tenure were spent as Director of Nursing. Her husband Dick was a coach and social studies teacher for 37 years at DCHS in Oberlin. Suzanne and her husband are parents to Christi (Mike) Rice, Andy (Sherri) Ahlberg, Erik and Mason. They are grandparents to Parker, Cole, & Ella Rice and Dreyvn and Staley Ahlberg. Suzanne likes to read, play golf and spend time with family and friends. Suzanne’s mother, Allene Lane and Dick’s mother Marian Ahlberg are residents of Clay Center as are her brother’s Paul, Mark and JD and their families. Her father was John (Blackie) Lane who was a teacher and coach at CCCHS for many years. She also has two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
