CLAY COUNTY RECEIVES GRANT
Clay County will be a recipient of the 2012 Kansas Rural Community Health Assessment mini-grant. The Community Health Needs Assessment is being coordinated by Dana Rickley, RN, Clay County Health Department and Marcia Newell, Director of Planning & Development at Clay County Medical Center.
The Clay County Community Health Assessment is currently conducting a survey and community members have until April 30, 2012 to submit their information.

A community health needs assessment improves health and facilitates access to health- and wellness-related resources by documenting the health status of community members.Clay County will be required to submit two progress reports; one midway through the grant period and a final report.
The mini-grant award will be distributed in two payments from the Kansas Rural Health Options Project, managed by the Kansas Hospital Association/Kansas Hospital Research and Service Foundation. The first payment of $2000 should be received shortly in the mail with the second payment of $2000 to be mailed upon the submission of the mid-way progress report in June 2012.
