Because You Care...Prepare

Every parent wants a safe and responsible babysitter.  On August 10, 2010 Clay County Medical Center is offering a class designed for 11 to 15 year olds that will train young people to:

• Care for children and infants.
• Be a good leader and role model.
• Make good decisions and solve problems.
• Keep children and themselves safe
• Handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents.

The material for this class is provided by The American Red Cross. Kim Davis and Mary Jensen completed the instructor course to become authorized providers. 

Students attending the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course will receive:

• A handbook with skill sheets for all lessons. 
• An emergency reference they can take on the job. This guide is easy to carry and describes care for common injuries and illnesses. 
• A CD-ROM with activities, games, crafts and recipes; and interactive exercises
